Matching Green Cricket Club Won By 9 Wickets

Match report Matching won the toss on a cold day and put last seasons all conquering Stansted side in to bat on an excellent track tinged with a bit of Green.
Matching looked ready for the season following their two pre season friendly wins against Abridge and Willingale.
Jason Green and Charlie Bass opened the bowling for the Green and soon had Stansted on the back foot , Bass removing Parsons for a duck and then Subramaniam for 1 bowling with good pace .
Green was as tight as ever.
Jonny Taylor replaced Green and after a pacy but wayward start settled into a good rhythm and bowled with good pace , he removed the Kirby brothers Fred and Charlie the latter with a fine delivery that hit the top of off .
Taylor bowled his spell out and was just shy of his much wanted 5 wicket haul ending with 4-42 off his 10 overs … he probably deserved better.
Simon Hartnell was introduced at the other end with his left arm spin and he was also on the money keeping things tight , he ended with 2-25 off his 8 overs , Bass ended with 2-21 off his 9 overs .
Green was then brought back on to tidy up the tail which he did with aplomb clean bowling the baffled J.Ayres for a duck to end with 2-12 off his 6.4 overs .
Stansted were all out for 109 off just 33.4 overs , with the Kirby brothers the only real contributors with 21 apiece.
With a low total Green was sent in to open as he had to leave at 5pm to go to a Texas concert (no comment) , he was bowled by Ben Baker for 8 with the score on 20 .
The other opener was Graeme Bowerman and he played a superb knock and when joined by the rejuvenated Tom Figg they put on an unbroken 90 to bring home an empahtic win for the visitors , with Bowerman 57 not out and Figg 26 not out .
Stansted bowled well and Monk bowled with some real pace , Baker had the best figures for Stansted with 1-19 off his 6 overs .
The game ended before 6pm Stansted looking a bit shell shocked .
Mention must go to Christine Monk and her incredible tea as usual.
A very clinical performance by the Matching boys .
