Is there anyone at your Club who might be interested in learning about Umpiring, or even just about the Laws? Maybe someone reaching the end of their playing career, involved with colts cricket, or maybe a parent? If there is, then please can you pass this message on to them?
We are running courses this winter which should help!
The courses should appeal to anyone just interested in learning about the implementation of the laws and/or considering taking up umpiring at whatever level from occasional colts matches to Leagues and beyond. It should also be helpful to anyone who umpires now, or as a player umpire. We can also assist anyone interested in scoring.
The Stage 1 course is at Brentwood Cricket Club pavilion on Monday evenings (the bar will be open) from 8 until 10. We start on 24th October 2021 and will run for several weeks. Stage 2 will commence on 26th January in the New Year.
The Tutors and others attending are very experienced umpires and together provide a wealth of knowledge to pass on in a professional, but friendly and informal manner.
The cost of the course is £8 to join the local Association plus £1 per week that you actually attend. The ECBACO also make a charge of £30 to attend the stage 1 course.
