David Morgan

Some sad new this morning. Margaret has just rung me to inform the club that David passed away in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 30 April. Many of you will know that David has been quite unwell for a number of months now. After his last hospital visit, Margaret and the family decided David should remain at home and receive palliative care.

David’s association with MGCC goes back over 70 year as player, committee member and more lately President for many years. He also founded The Ploughboys cricket club and was a life member of Essex CCC. There was no doubting his love for our great game. 

As a mark of respect our club flag will be hung at half mast from 11am this morning and we will hold a moments silence at 12 noon at today’s Thursday Club. Please come along and join us if you are able.

I have, of course, passed on our love to Margaret from everyone associated with the club.
